You've probably heard by now of the latest craze to hit the flooring world, water proof - vinyl plank flooring. It comes in all colors and shades, sizes and options. But is it really worth it?
We would absolutely argue, yes! What could be better than getting a beautiful wood look, without the inconvenience of traditional wood or engineered wood? Vinyl Plank comes as a floating floor meaning it does not have to be glued down and the pad is attached to each piece. It is low maintenance and durable for kids and pets. (It doesn't scratch!) It can be cleaned with any type of steam cleaner or mop, and if you have a leak all you have to do is dry it out!
It won't warp or shrink. Which means it can also be used in the bathroom!
Let's talk about price point. Typically anything wood look - whether it is engineered, real hardwood, or wood look tile price per square foot varies, but typically runs between $3.50 and $7.00 per square foot. That's before installation costs! Vinyl Plank runs about $2.25 to $3.50 per square foot before installation costs. Can you believe the difference?!
It is different than the old style vinyl flooring you may be picturing. You know, the 90's style off-white kitchen flooring? This looks nothing like that at all! Take a look at this natural look we installed recently:
As you can see, it flows nicely and has beautiful tones allowing for all kinds of accent finishings.
